FAMILY RUN.
In 2014, Jon and Jacki Smith, along with their son, Jordan, founded Bow & Stern. Bow & Stern is built on the steadfast foundation of family. This familial ideal extends to every guest, every employee and every shareholder.
HUMBLE
BEGINNINGS.
Jon and Jacki first entered into the restaurant industry in 1988 with a concept created around fish and chips. Their signature recipe, perfected through the years, remains a staple item served in our restaurants today.
A LABOUR
OF LOVE.
Experience and inspiration led us to the Fraser Valley of British Columbia, with our first location in ABBOTSFORD. It was a labour of love and ingenuity. The bank agreed to a small business loan. We found great deals on second hand furniture and kitchen equipment and pieced together a restaurant. In November 2014, we opened our doors earlier than anticipated in order to pay the now due rent.
We preserved through the highs and lows of starting a business. We developed a brand – synonymous with family, with integrity, and with community.
NEW
OPPORTUNITIES.
In October 2020, in the midst of a global pandemic, Jordan and brother-in-law, Adam, took on the daunting task of building and operating Bow & Stern’s second location in CHILLIWACK. At a time of overwhelming uncertainty, our second restaurant succeeded due to the invaluable commitment of our employees and the unwavering support of Fraser Valley community.
Autumn 2022 brought a new opportunity to our family – a third location in The Amazing Brentwood in BURNABY, BC. This restaurant is set to open in Spring of 2024. Another brother has jumped aboard and this restaurant will be run by all three brothers.
